Frequently asked questions

Does it keep Vietnamese accents and tone marks?

Yes. It uses a Vietnamese language model, so letters like ơ, ư, ă, đ and the tone marks come out as real Vietnamese characters you can paste into Word or Google Docs or a translator.

How accurate is it?

Clear, printed text photographed straight and in good light gives good results. Handwriting, blurry or tilted photos will contain mistakes, so always check numbers and names.

Are my documents uploaded anywhere?

No. Recognition runs inside your browser. Only the recognition engine and the Vietnamese language data are downloaded the first time.

Can I then translate the text?

Yes. Copy the result into the translator you already use. Getting the accents right first makes the translation much better.
